Lubricant - A lubricant (colloquially, lube, although this usually refers to personal lubricants) is a substance (usually a liquid) introduced between two moving surfaces to reduce the friction and wear between them. An understanding of how lubricating systems work is crucial to the selection of a lubricant for a particular application.
Grease (lubricant) - Grease is a lubricant of higher initial viscosity than oil, consisting originally of a calcium, sodium or lithium soap jelly emulsified with mineral oil.
Surgical lubricant - Surigical lubricants are certain substances used by health care providers to provide lubrication and lessen discomfort to the patient during certain medical/surgical procedures(per vaginal examination/per rectal examination).
Personal lubricant - Personal lubricants are specialized lubricants used to reduce friction with the genitals or anus. Personal lubricants were originally derived from surgical lubricants designed for use during medical procedures, but are now most commonly used to provide lubrication for sexual acts, particularly where natural lubrication by vaginal fluids is not available or insufficient.
